Class FAQs

Do I need be very fit to take aerial lessons?

Nope! Simply come as you are. Everybody learns at their own pace and gets stronger in their own time. Private lessons are the best way to train if you are concerned about not being able to keep up in a group class.

What are the age requirements to take aerial lessons?

For group classes the typical minimum age is 10. If a particular class is restricted or categorized by age, it will be noted. For private lessons the minimum age is 8, up to any age whatsoever!

Class Guidelines

  • Expect a full body workout! We’ll work all major muscle groups in class, with an emphasis on your core, back, shoulders, arms and hands.
  • Dress appropriately. Please wear form-fitting workout clothes that cover the back of your knees and armpits. For more advanced students, a leotard or unitard helps prevent burns during drops.
  • Please wash your feet! Class is held barefoot, please wash your feet beforehand.
  • Don’t eat right before class. We’ll be going upside-down a lot and balancing on our backs and bellies. Not a good recipe when mixed with a full stomach!
  • Bring Gatorade. Staying hydrated is very helpful for endurance. I prefer gatorade to water, try it out yourself and see what works for you.
  • Warm-up and cool-down. We will spend class time on warming up before going in the air, and cooling down at the end of class. Proper stretching and conditioning before and after aerial class is an important part of training!
